Learning Spaces
To stay aligned to the North Star statement we continuously invest in our own learning and growth and access opportunities available to us through our journey.
Here are some of the learning opportunities at Quest which we can access as we embark upon our learning journey. These spaces are designed to address individual needs through various ways of delivery. Also, be mindful that we create a balance between action and learning.
People Circle
People Circle is a shared learning space for people managers at Quest. We come together every month on the second Monday as a group to hold discussions on themes that impact the way we work with our team. Through this platform we hope to build a common understanding on how we can build empowered, independent, interdependent and accountable teams.
Skill Shacks
Skill shacks are learning spaces for the entire team. Skill shacks take two forms:
- We have skill shacks through the year on the last Friday of every month. This space is designed as an opportunity to build skills across the organisation on themes that align to the overall organizational priority for the year. For some roles it is highly recommended to go through some of these sessions and hence they receive invites and notifications in advance while for the others, it is a choice to be part of these and build their understanding. If it is something you thought will be a cool skill to pick this year, then make sure to attend it.
- The other face of Skill Shacks is a series of sessions focussed on sharing good practices, conducted in December every year. During these sessions you will witness experts in different domains across the organisation, share their experience in their field. Interactions and discussions make this week long experience rich and full of insights and learning
Mentor Program
Many of us do much better when we are able to talk through things with someone who can guide us and share their experiences along the way. The mentor program at Quest is designed for individuals to be able to access this support while they take ownership of their learning and growth.The mentor program is designed with an objective to:
- Meet the learning needs of Quest team members who choose to work with a mentor
- Build a channel for cross learning and learning by experience
- Build ownership of own learning
- Improving communication skills and be able to work in collaboration with another individual while agreeing on healthy boundaries
Coaching
A learning space for ELT where they can choose to work with a list of empanelled external coaches to help them through a journey of awareness about their contribution to themselves and the organisation and through that the community.This is a process of co-ownership where the coach also pays 50% of the coaching fee.
Individual Learning Opportunities
Based on our learning goals for the year, some learning needs can be met through self paced online courses. Some themes are better understood in context to how we see them at Quest. So we develop some of the e-learning courses which at hosted on the Zoho People Plus LMS.Likewise, for picking new skills or accessing courses for mastery, we also have a list of courses that are available as preferred courses, hosted on a multitude of external platforms. An individual can choose the themes that align to their learning goals and complete the course during the year. The organisation will invest up to Rs 5000 per year for each individual. Once paid, you can have this amount reimbursed by filling a simple form on Zoho People Forms.
Team Learning Opportunities
Apart from the learning opportunities at organisational level, teams have their unique needs as well. You have a people team representative and the L&D team aligned to your specific team with whom you can speak about these needs. A team based learning path is designed to meet these needs.
On-the-job Learning
Some of the best learnings come from experience and hence learning on the job is both insightful, experiential and also a way to ground ourselves in reality. During the year teams create cross learning opportunities and opportunities to learn on the job by experiencing first hand some of the conversations and implementation on field. We get to know more about these experiences by the stories that our colleagues share with us.
Mastercoach
A cohort based program led by Capacity Building Team for facilitators and educators, running successfully since many cohorts. For more informations, reach out to lenin@questalliance.net
